Birthrate: What about overpopulation? | The Seattle Times

Re: “Why dads, not ‘duds,’ matter for the baby bust” (Sept. 3, Opinion):

For our nation, together with many others, to be pushing for the next birthrate appears to me shortsighted at finest. It’s true {that a} decrease birthrate will trigger preliminary ache and want for adjustment, however what’s our different? To maintain flooding the Earth with increasingly more people till there is no such thing as a room or sources left?

It looks as if an enormous Ponzi scheme — to enlarge one era to pay for the final era and so forth. When and the place does it cease? I imagine that now’s the time we needs to be holding the road — not growing our birthrate — and inspiring different nations to do the identical.
