Re: “Budget cuts are hurting food banks. Time to step up” (Aug. 27, Opinion):
It’s certainly time to step up. Because the funds cuts take impact, we, as caring and anxious residents, can do much more to assist struggling households, seniors or folks with disabilities put meals on the desk. We will do greater than donating canned items or cash or volunteering our time at our native meals banks.
We will electronic mail our members of Congress, schedule conferences and meet nose to nose with our members of Congress in addition to attend any city halls they’ve. Members of Congress will likely be on the town via the month of August. This offers a first-rate alternative to allow them to learn about insurance policies that matter most to you, construct relationships and maintain them accountable.
