    2026 Men’s NCAA Tournament Projections: Florida Replaces UConn as Final 1-Seed

    With Selection Sunday approaching, the race for the final No. 1 seed in the men’s NCAA Tournament has taken a dramatic turn.

    Three teams — Duke, Michigan and Arizona — appear to have all but locked up spots on the top seed line. The fourth spot, however, has remained unsettled for weeks, with several contenders making their case as the regular season winds down.

    UConn entered the weekend holding the final No. 1 seed in FOX Sports Bracket Forecaster Mike DeCourcy’s projections, but a shocking loss to the unranked Marquette opened the door for the surging Florida Gators, who picked up an impressive 84-77 road win over Kentucky.

    With the victory, and UConn’s stumble, the Gators now claim the final No. 1 seed in DeCourcy’s latest projections. Here’s a complete look at his updated NCAA Tournament seed list:

    According to DeCourcy’s seed list, Indiana, Auburn, Virginia Tech and San Diego State are the first four teams out of the tournament, while Cal, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State and Seton Hall are the next four out.

    Selection Sunday is one week away, and this list will inevitably evolve. For now, DeCourcy’s latest seed list offers a clear snapshot of who’s rising, who’s falling and which programs are already building the résumés they’ll need when March Madness arrives.
