    X to comply with UK law over Grok deepfakes, Starmer says

    The Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer says he has been knowledgeable that Elon Musk’s X is “performing to make sure full compliance with UK regulation” over sexualised deepfakes produced by its AI software, Grok.

    It prompted the regulator Ofcom to launch an investigation on Monday and the federal government to announce it can implement a regulation criminalising the creation of non-consensual deepfakes.

    When approached by the BBC, the prime minister’s official spokesman mentioned Sir Keir had not had any contact with X, and was reacting to media reviews when he made his feedback to MPs.

    The Telegraph has reported that Grok has now stopped responding to requests to supply sexualised photographs of ladies and ladies.

    X has not responded to a remark request from the BBC about that report. It is usually but to touch upon Sir Keir’s remarks.

    Afterwards, his official spokesman mentioned there had been no contact between Sir Keir and X.

    On Monday, Ofcom mentioned it had launched a proper investigation into X resulting from “deeply regarding reviews” of the chatbot getting used to create and share undressed photographs of individuals, in addition to “sexualised photographs of kids”.

    In a publish on X on Wednesday, Musk mentioned that he was “not conscious” of any bare underage photographs generated by Grok.
