    President Donald Trump traveled to Dover Air Drive Base in Delaware on Wednesday to attend a dignified switch of U.S. service members killed within the battle in Iran.

    “Heading to Dover Air Drive Base to HONOR OUR HEROES!” Trump posted to his social media platform Wednesday morning.

    “We’ll Dover, a few of you’re going with us, to honor our heroes. And they’re certainly nice heroes, truly,” Trump informed reporters simply earlier than boarding Air Drive One for the flight to Dover.

    The president mentioned the dignified switch ceremony is “one of many hardest issues to do as a president but it surely needs to be executed.” He then proceeded to defend the battle in Iran, claiming that “all” of the fallen troopers had “mentioned very strongly” that “we can not let Iran have a nuclear weapon.”

    “All I will say is, we love you. We love your youngster, and that is what they’re to them. They’re their youngsters. There is no video games, no nothing. That is their youngster. And all you are able to do is throw out your coronary heart,” Trump mentioned earlier than boarding Air Drive One.

    Wednesday’s ceremony is the third dignified switch Trump has attended for the reason that begin of the Iran battle.

    In a single day, the Pentagon recognized the third particular person believed to have been killed in motion throughout Friday’s Iranian strike on a U.S. base in Jordan as Military Sgt. Angel S. Rampersad, 28, of Ozone Park, New York.

    Two different American troopers died within the Iranian assault on the U.S. base: Pfc. Isabella Gonzales, 19, of Carrollton, Texas, and 1st Lt. Tyler Feehan, of Ewa Seaside, Hawaii.

    A fourth soldier, Military Sgt. Michael Emmanuel Swinton, 30, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, died Sunday following the managed detonation of a downed Iranian assault drone at Erbil Air Base in Iraq, the Military mentioned.

    Because the U.S. battle in Iran started in late February, a minimum of 18 troopers have been killed and roughly 500 wounded, based on the Division of Protection.

    Fighting has intensified after a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran reached in mid-June broke down. There has now been 11 consecutive nights of strikes.
