Polling day in all probability can’t come quickly sufficient for Nigel Farage.

He sought to border the competition as Mr Farage towards the media and the “Institution”.

Lawrence Fox, from the Reclaim Get together, wildlife campaigner Rob Pownall who clothes up as a fox, actuality TV star Luke Worley, from Married at First Sight UK, Jeremy Corbyn’s brother Piers, and candidates from the Monster Raving Loony Party and Rejoin EU Party may also throw their hats into the ring.

So far bookmaker William Hill has these candidates on between 100-1 and 1,000-1.

Reform had originally hoped for the by-election to happen quickly on August 6.

But Tendring District Council, which will run the by-election, announced on Friday that it would take place on August 13.

So, that’s an extra week for Mr Farage to go head-to-head with Count Binface who launched his campaign at the Museum of Comedy in London.

The big question now being asked is will the Reform leader do hustings alongside the Count and other candidates in Clacton?

The political circus is also only likely to escalate if Count Binface heads to the Essex seaside town for his campaign which suddenly may be well funded.

    Dale ‘booster rockets’

Matters only got worse for Mr Farage when green industrialist Dale Vince, founder of renewable energy company Ecotricity, stepped in to offer to fund Count Binface’s campaign.

“This is a really important by election, called by Farage for no good reason – Count Binface is the face now of the anti Farage movement,” he posted on X.

“It’s Bin Day in Clacton. We will be rid of the hyper poisonous Farage.”

So moderately than having a poorly-run marketing campaign towards him, the Reform UK chief, who is facing a swirl of financial allegations, may now be confronted with a well-planned and properly-funded operation to attempt to cease him being re-elected.

    ‘Capturing media star’

Depend Binface has already been flooded with media requests, with notable early appearances on the BBC.

Inside days he has gone from being a moderately freakish candidate who turns up at by-elections, and the London mayoral 2024 contest, to talking on prime political exhibits.

Media curiosity in him is simply prone to develop, particularly if he hits the streets of Clacton.

Reform backers are already in search of to painting Harvey (aka as Depend Binface) as a liberal who has labored for the BBC.

It might not be lengthy earlier than it’s recommended that he’s a part of a “Deep State” plot towards Mr Farage.

The problem for Mr Farage is that Depend Binface doesn’t need to win the by-election to emerge victorious.

The election is such a weird scenario that precisely what doing nicely would appear to be for the Depend will not be clear.

But when he acquired into the 20 per cent or extra in vote share it could be a startling achievement for a candidate who usually is in a battle to avoid wasting his £500 deposit by gaining a 5 per cent backing.

Mr Farage might have hoped of delivering a triumphant speech, having comfortably gained the by-election, and he should nicely accomplish that.

Having gained almost half the vote within the Essex seat on the 2024 common election, he’s now urging voters in Clacton to “stick two fingers as much as all the Institution”.

However all of the cameras on election night time can even be on Depend Binface and his speech could also be as memorable if no more as Mr Farage’s.

Nigel Farage is also facing questions about support received from long-term ally George Cottrell (James Manning/PA)

Mr Cottrell reportedly recruited and paid three staff to work on Mr Farage’s social media before the general election, and has continued to allow him to use a five-storey Georgian property he rented near Buckingham Palace.

But if the Reform leader is found to have breached Commons rules on declaring interests and is suspended for more than 10 sitting days, it could trigger a recall petition, potentially leading to another Clacton by-election.

Which of course may mean: Nigel Farage v Count Binface – the rematch.
