    Iran has launched assaults on Bahrain and Kuwait after the US struck 5 Iranian targets, escalating tensions and threatening the delicate ceasefire agreed by the 2 sides earlier this month.

    Bahrain condemned the assaults, saying they violated its sovereignty and undermined “alternatives for de-escalation and stability within the area”, whereas Kuwait described the “repeated heinous Iranian aggressions” as a “flagrant violation of its sovereignty”.

    The US navy hit Iran’s Sirik, Bandar-e Lengeh and Qeshm Island on Saturday.
