The Division of Justice on Friday filed a lawsuit in opposition to Fulton County, Georgia, in an try and receive data from the 2020 election, in what seems to be the newest transfer from the Trump administration to analyze the election the president misplaced.
The Justice Division is searching for paperwork together with poll stubs and signature envelopes from the 2020 common election, the lawsuit from the DOJ’s civil division states.
In line with the lawsuit, Legal professional Common Pam Bondi is investigating Fulton County’s “compliance with federal election regulation.”
Justice Division officers despatched a letter to the Fulton County clerk in November searching for the data, which went unanswered, the swimsuit claims.

President Donald Trump has continued to falsely declare he received the 2020 election, together with the state of Georgia, which he misplaced to Joe Biden. Trump and 18 others were indicted in Fulton County over alleged efforts to overturn the election outcomes.
Trump pleaded not responsible and the fees in opposition to all defendants have been dismissed last month.
Requested by ABC Information for remark, the Fulton County clerk’s workplace stated in a press release: “The Workplace of the Clerk of Superior and Justice of the Peace Courts isn’t at liberty to touch upon pending litigation.”
