Re: “What America might look like if immigration comes to a halt” (Dec. 29, A1):
What would be the penalties for the U.S. economic system if the Trump administration’s anti-immigration insurance policies proceed below future presidents?
Hasn’t this nation been economically, culturally and academically developed by immigrants from everywhere in the world?
For me the immigration problem is private. I’m an immigrant. I thank Asclepius, the Greek god of therapeutic, for having despatched Indian, Iranian and Syrian cardiologists to deal with my coronary heart illness, to maintain me alive for just a few extra years.
I additionally thank the nurses and help workers from the Philippines, Vietnam, Mexico, Korea, Ukraine and Ethiopia that I met on the hospital for his or her dedication to the well being of their sufferers.
Who would do the work immigrants, authorized or undocumented, are doing now if we shut our border to of us keen to do the heavy lifting?
