The 2026 NFL coaching carousel technically started months ago, but now it’s in full swing.

Following the conclusion of the 2025 NFL regular season on Sunday, several coaches, coordinators and executives have started to learn about their futures across the league.

Here’s a closer look at which coaches, coordinators and front office executives have been let go around the league.

    Hirings

    • The Falcons hired former franchise quarterback Matt Ryan as President of Football, where he will “oversee all aspects of Falcons football for the organization” which will help “ensure alignment of the entire business and football areas of the organization.”

    • The Dolphins hired Packers vice president of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan as their new general manager. Sullivan spent a combined 23 seasons with the Packers.

    • The New York Giants are finalizing an agreement with John Harbaugh to make him the team’s next head coach, according to a report from ESPN on Wednesday. A deal is expected, barring a setback, per the report.

    Firings/Departures

    • The Cardinals fired Jonathan Gannon following a 3-14 season.

    • The Falcons fired both head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot shortly after the 2025 regular season ended. Morris was fired after two years at the helm, while Fontenot’s tenure ended after five seasons.

    • Head coach John Harbaugh and the Ravens agreed to part ways after 18 seasons, NFL Media reported.

    • Dallas fired defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus after one season in the wake of a 7-9-1 season that saw the Cowboys’ defense surrender the most points in the NFL and finish 30th in opponent total yards.

    • The Lions fired offensive coordinator John Morton after one season, NFL Media reported. Morton, who replaced Ben Johnson after he became the Bears’ head coach, had lost his playcalling duties midseason, with head coach Dan Campbell assuming that role. Detroit missed the postseason in 2025 for the first time in three years, going 9-8.

    • The Raiders fired head coach Pete Carroll after one season, dismissing him following a 3-14 year.
    • The Raiders fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly on Nov. 23 following a 2-9 start to the season.
    • Special teams coordinator Tom McMahon was fired by the Raiders on Nov. 7.

    • The Chargers reportedly fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman just two days following their wild-card loss to the Patriots. While the Chargers dealt with injuries to key players on the offensive side of the ball for much of the year, they finished 20th in scoring in the regular season and only put up three points in their playoff loss. Chargers right guard Mekhi Becton criticized Roman’s offense on Monday as well.

    • The Rams fired special teams coordinator Chase Blackburn on Dec. 20, following their Week 16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

    • Dolphins general manager Chris Grier stepped down from his role on Oct. 31 amid his 10th season with the team. Miami went 77-80 over Grier’s tenure.
    • Miami fired head coach Mike McDaniel after missing the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, ending his four-year stint in the position.

    • The Giants fired head coach Brian Daboll on Nov. 10 following a 2-8 start to the season. Daboll went 20-40-1 during his four seasons as New York’s head coach. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka took over for Daboll on an interim basis.
    • The Giants fired defensive coordinator Shane Bowen on Nov. 24, a move that was made by Kafka.

    • The Jets fired defensive coordinator Steve Wilks on Dec. 15 following their 3-11 start. New York’s defense is one game away from becoming the first team to not record an interception in a season in NFL history.

    • Mike Tomlin has stepped down as head coach of the Steelers after 19 seasons, the team announced following their playoff loss to the Texans.

    • The Buccaneers fired offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard after one season in the position and two seasons on head coach Todd Bowles’ staff following the team missing the playoffs for the first time in six years.

    • The Titans were the first team to fire their head coach this season, dismissing Brian Callahan on Oct. 13 following a 1-5 start.

    • The Commanders mutually parted ways with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury after two seasons. Following reaching the NFC Championship Game in 2024, Washington missed the playoffs and went 5-12 this season.
    • Washington fired defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. after two seasons on the job. The Commanders’ defense surrendered the most total yards in the NFL and was 27th in opponent points.

    Staying put

    Arizona Cardinals (GM)

    • General manager Monti Ossenfort will remain in his role following the firing of head coach Jonathan Gannon.

    Tampa Bay Buccaneers (HC)

    • Head coach Todd Bowles revealed that he’s staying in his position.

Cincinnati Bengals (HC, director of participant personnel)

    • The Bengals will keep head coach Zac Taylor and director of player personnel Duke Tobin, the team announced Monday. Cincinnati’s decision to retain two of its top leaders came after the team finished the 2025 season with a 6-11 record, missing the playoffs for a third consecutive year.

    • The Browns will keep Andrew Berry on as general manager after firing head coach Kevin Stefanski, the team announced. Berry will lead the search to find the team’s next head coach.

    • The Colts aren’t making any changes at head coach or general manager this offseason. Indianapolis will retain head coach Shane Steichen and general manager Chris Ballard despite losing its last seven games of the season, ESPN reported. The Colts had gotten out to a promising 8-2 start, making a big swing at the trade deadline by trading two first-round picks for cornerback Sauce Gardner. However, quarterback Daniel Jones’ Achilles tear in early December seemed to put to bed any hopes of making the postseason, with 44-year-old Philip Rivers playing at quarterback in their final three games before getting eliminated from postseason play.

    Las Vegas Raiders (GM)

    • General manager John Spytek will remain with the Raiders and lead their football operations as they search for their next head coach following Pete Carroll’s firing.

    • Mike McDaniel is staying put as head coach of the Dolphins following a 7-10 season that caused Miami to miss the playoffs for a second straight year. Not only that, but he said he’ll also be a part of Miami’s search to find its next general manager, he told reporters on Monday. The franchise has also reportedly brought in Troy Aikman to help conduct the search to find its next general manager.

    • General manager Joe Schoen will remain in his role entering the 2026 offseason, ESPN reported. Schoen had been expected to remain as general manager following the decision to fire head coach Brian Daboll in November. The Giants have gone 22-55-1 in Schoen’s four seasons as general manager.

    New York Jets (HC)

    • The Jets are expected to keep head coach Aaron Glenn for the 2026 season, FOX Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer reported.
