Cam Schlittler continues being a ray of sunshine for the New York Yankees.
The rookie starter threw one other gem on Monday in a 10-5 win over the Washington Nationals, giving the Yankees cause for optimism amid an up-and-down 2025 season.
Schlittler pitched six shutout innings in opposition to the Nationals, putting out eight batters and permitting 4 hits on 96 pitches (63 strikes).
The No. 3 prospect within the Yankees farm system coming into 2025, Schlittler made his MLB debut on July 9. After posting a 4.91 earned run common (ERA) in
three July begins, Schlittler has been significantly better in August.
Following Monday’s win, Schlittler has a 1.65 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 27.2 innings this month. He is solely allowed one earned run and 7 hits over his final three begins (17.2 innings).
